Aztec Family Chest - Wooden Puzzle Box The Aztecs flourished in what is now central Mexico from 1300 - 1521 AD.  These Mesoamerican people were known not only for their architecture and advanced political structure, but they were also known for their progressive views of family and importance of its place in the community. This Aztec Family Chest was inspired by similar boxes and chests that were used by the Aztec people to keep their personal treasures in.  This box celebrates the importance of Family and Legacy by featuring the visages of the Aztec Deities, Acatle, Ocelotl, Cozcacuhtli and Ollin, who were all key to the strength of the Aztec family unit.  As a bonus, this box holds a secret temple puzzle that can only be revealed once you discover how to open it.
